Why do you like Sarah Palin?

At 44, Sarah Louise Heath Palin is both the youngest and the first female governor in Alaska's relatively brief history as a state. She's also the most popular governor in America, with an approval rating that has bounced around 90 percent.

This is due partly to her personal qualities. When she was leading her underdog Wasilla high school basketball team to the state championship in 1982, her teammates called her "Sarah Barracuda" because of her fierce competitiveness.

Two years later, when she won the "Miss Wasilla" beauty pageant, she was also voted "Miss Congeniality" by the other contestants.

Sarah Barracuda. Miss Congeniality. Fire and nice. A happily married mother of five who is still drop dead gorgeous. And smart to boot.

But it's mostly because she's been a crackerjack governor, a strong fiscal conservative and a ferocious fighter of corruption, especially in her own party.

Ms. Palin touches other conservative bases, some of which Sen. McCain has been accused of rounding. Track, her eldest son, enlisted in the Army last Sept. 11. She's a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association who hunts, fishes and runs marathons. A regular churchgoer, she's staunchly pro-life.

In short -- she would represent me and my philosophies very well. She isn't an intellectual elitist, wealthy or even an insider. She's one of we the people. Hard working and honest. She doesn't have links to shady individuals or a corrupt political machine and she proves that a beautiful woman doesn't have to be a trophy for some man and that powerful, intelligent women don't have to be plain to be taken seriously -- or at least shouldn't have to be.

Well she is a successful mother and not a racist or sexist and well a Washington insider like Biden who is not Change.

What's not to like? She can field dress a moose AND wear lipstick.

i believe that thats all people know about her but i feel that thats the reason some one would vote for. the looks, but according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarah_Palin she seems like an all american girl i guess but just read that which you most likely have already. i dont like her ( my opinion) i guess for the party aspect but she is sexy tho..

I'm a fan of the American story. Starting small and making it big.

That and I have a thing for Tina Fey and via the transitive property I think Palin is a cutie.

I don't trust any politican. They lie their way into office to do nothing but collect a paycheck.

I'm doing a sociology project on why people like sarah palin...and i haven't been able to get much insight. The most common answer is "she's hot" or "I just love her". I'm looking for something with a little more validity and haven't had much luck.

She is an extremist whose agenda is dangerous to foreign policy; her environmental record is horrid (she advocates shooting wolf from the air because they deplete hunting/prey animals, and I am not even mentioning her great desire to pump every drop of energy of the northern continent).
Hair up or down, lipstick or not - does it matter to world policy? She has no substance outside her Stepford Wife politics.
Frankly, I'd be afraid of someone like her toting not only her narrow beliefs, but firearms as well.

She seems like a family oriented person. If I knew her outside the political realm, I may have more substance answer this question.

Compaired to what we have seen from the usual herd of politicians, she doesn't fit the mold.
that is good because we haven't seen anyone willing to take the job who isn't just a plain old corrupt politician.

I think people perceive her as "one of us." (I don't.)

The trouble is that the leap from being "one of us" to being vice president is not really a logical next step.

She is hot and has a innocence about her, like the only thing on her mind isn't how to screw everybody over, like most politicians.

To be honest, she's hot and sexy at 45.I've never seen such charm in any woman of her age.

i admire her, but lots of women don't ..too jealous.....she rock's as they say...:)

She's ambitious, I'll give her that. But that's about it for me.

I like Sarah Palin for her accomplishments, her beliefs, and her just plain down to earthness.

She is a beautiful, intelligent, powerful woman who is active atheletically. She hunts, fishes, attends church on a regular basis (more regular that I, so I definitely don't measure up there, but I'd say I can outshoot her). I admire her for her honesty, tenacity, and steadfast conservativeness.

1..She killed the GOP chances in the last election.
2..She provided great material for SNL
3..She says "You betcha!"

She's real. She gives off the impression that she's just like the rest of America. Her own teenage daughter got pregnant. She's funny and seems like she has some common sense. She's a strong, well-rounded individual. She's not what you'd expect a politician to be like, and I'd like to see how she would do as president or vice-president.
