With the 5 speed i have recently installed in my 68 impala my fuel mileage went from 17mpg up to 21.92mpg,is this a good result for such a big car with a 350ci

    sure it is, the 5 spd overdrive resulted in a higher ratio final.have you checked the speedometer since you have changed trannys? the ratio difference may have thrown off the calibration...

    I would say it is. There are lighter vehicles with smaller engines that don't have that sort of fuel economy.
