  • NFL playeres are role models to children and If I was an NFL coach there would be serious consequences on any player who gets arrested. discipline would range from several games suspension (Without Pay)to being fired. Any Possession of narcotic arrests or DUI, would mean that player is FIRED.
  • Well this season it seems as if the league has been sending them all to Cincinnati so that they can play for the Bengals.
  • I think they should be suspended from the team and the franchise without pay. Let some up and coming rookie who really wants to play take the player's place on the team. A message needs to be sent to the players that this behavior is unacceptable. Perhaps there is a league somewhere that will tolerate their "indiscretions".
  • I don't really think they should do anything, playing football is their job, if you were arrested you would not lose your job. It's bad enough that they have the legal drama but what exactly does that have to do with their ability to play? Why should a talented athlete not be able to shine because of something that is irrelevant to the game? It should be up to a coach whos on their team if you don't want someone with a record that's your choice the NFL shouldn't have a say. Just because they are famous and their charges are publicized more than an average person doesn't mean they should be punished more than the average.
  • Answering my own question, I don't there should be any other action except long term suspensions without pay. That is the only way you will ever get to these guys. They have so much money, fines don't bother them. They need to learn that children look up to them and want to be them.
  • I agree with huslta. Firing someone from there job for a DUI, cmon tantric, thats a little rediculous! I mean if you got a DUI today, your still going to have your job. That said, I don't condone or respect this kind of behavior that athletes with a "above the law" attitude have. But, it is up to the coaches to have a stronger stance on this issue. I think game suspension would be the best route. Number of games would depend on the infraction. Or you could just throw em all in TimeOut, LMAO!
  • 1 time= short suspension and minimal fine 2 times= long suspension and large fine 3 times= banned from the league there is no excuse for someone of an NFL players stature to get arrested..
