I would think for a woman it would be more ideal to have the child at home.It is in familiar surroundings,little noise and bother one would have at a hospital.It would be safer for you would be free from staff infections and other bacteria that is in the hospitals.Also it is traumatic enough for the mother and child than having a masked doctor staring over them.

Midwife- I delivered with a midwife in a birthing center. That was the best option for me, though. Some women prefer the "comfort" of doctors in a hospital. I do not.

Hospital. If anything unexpected was to happen at least you have everything you need at the hospital to help you.

Woman have been giving birth for thousands of years without doctors and hospitals turning a sacred experience into a medical one. If you watch and compare home births to hospital births the home births look so much more warm and enjoyable. The hospital births look so cold and traumatic. Midwifes seem to be in the biz because they love doing it and are caring and loving...doctors seem to do it for the money and are in a hurry to get it over with often presurring drugs and c-sections...

I think a good midwife is all that most fit healthy women need.
