  • Do what i did.Tell them your sorry but you cant understand what they are saying and cant help them until you can.Its typical behavior of illegals to act that way because they know our government has no intention of making them leave.
  • Well, technically english is not the official language of the US (I'm assuming you're in the US). However, they can't make you learn spanish, and as the most popularly used language in the US, they should learn english in order to adapt and be able to function. If you move somewhere, you should change to function within that new society - society should not change for you, although it does change over time. Perhaps it would be best to politely point out that you speak english, and inform them that most people in the area speak english and it would be beneficial for them to learn. Also, maybe you can find an apartment complex in the area with employees who do speak spanish, and direct them there instead. I am moving to Germany, and my whole family is currently working to learn German. Wherever I move to, I plan to know the main language. Frankly, I find it pathetic to demand that people change for you, especially if they were there first. May I also add that it would be very beneficial to your income to learn spanish anyways, regardless of whether or not people are polite enough to learn the language of the place they have chosen to live in.
