I tell them I'm good at it and I guess that makes them insecure about their skills so they claim they don't like to play. I like people that are just honest and direct. My pool skills put the average Joe to shame so I suppose it's expected.

I think it depends on what area you live in. I am pretty sure the south is much bigger on pool than the north, and that the west is much bigger on pool than the east. Unless it's the SE vs the SW then the SE wins I would have to guess. I'm from Maine so people round here just aren't big on it.

Its all right. Its a game for comfy flat shoes and loose trousers, not for crippling heels or tight little skirts, and boobs can get in the way. On that basis if a girl gets dressed up to meet you down the pub, she's probably going to see you playing billiards as a bit of an insult - a way to exclude her or force her to be bl**dy uncomfortable and look tarty.

I grew up in a family of 9 kids. My dad built a dining room table on the pool table. We ate and then the top was taken off. Everyone played! Mom too. My highlight was when I was playing with a date, and a stranger put a quarter on the table to play the next game with him. Since I was on a date, we had other plans. I'll never forget the disappointment on the challenger's face.
