If you blow your nose why is there still mucus there afterwards

    Mucousal membranes line the respiratory system all the way down the nose and into the lungs. Self-cleaning cilia always keep the mucous flowing. If you blow your nose then you only get some of the topmost material with some of that still held in place in the membrane lining, with yet more still there further down the pipe.

    well i will admit it is pretty gross, but i saw on tv a few weeks ago that the mucus traps the germs and stuff and stops them from getting inside your body, but now that i think about it, i don't really want germs just chillin inside my nose either haha

    I definitely know how you feel. I lost my sense of smell and taste about 10 years ago. Being a vegetarian, I recently found out that I could be lacking zinc. Needless to say, I have added zinc to my diet and I have had positive results so far. More info...
