Your may be able to re-region your player by entering a special code from the remote. There are a number of websites that provide this type of information. The reliability of this information might be questionable, unless you can find more than one contributor who can confirm that this can be done with your model. The downside of this process is that a mistake might disable your player. If you can re-region your player, you might only be able to do it a limited number of times. This is the case with computer DVD drives, for example, which usually can only be re-regioned five times. You cannot switch back and forth between regions whenever you want. Even if your player can be re-regioned, you may still have a problem playing region 1 disks. Region 1 DVDs are sold in the US and Canada, where the NTSC broadcast system is used. Region 4 DVDs may be in PAL format. If you bought your player in a country where the PAL system is used, it may not be able to play NTSC disks. Some DVD players can handle both NTSC and PAL disks, though manufacturers tend not to advertise this feature. They build one video processing board and use it in players they configure for any region. If you can borrow a region 4 NTSC disk, you can check if your player can handle this format. If you are planning to buy disks from outside your region, you may find it useful to purchase a DVD player that can play disks from any region and in any video format. The Cambridge Audio DVD89, for example, can play disks encoded for any region, in either NTSC or PAL. (Nice player, so I bought one.) If buying an all-region, all-format player is not your taste, you may be able to use your computer to achieve the same goal. You will need a DVD drive that can be set to region 1 permanently. Rip the region 1 NTSC disks using a program such as DVD Shrink (Windows) or Mac the Ripper (Mac). These programs can de-region the material when it is copied. However, you will still face the NTSC / PAL issue, which might render the de-regioned disks unplayable on your DVD player.

LG v9120w With no disc in the unit: Turn the unit on Eject the empty DVD tray Press pause on the unit (not the remote) Type in 314159 on your remote Menu will appear on screen Press 0 on your remote Press pause on the unit That's it. It worked for me on an Australian unit 11.03.09. Unit is a couple of years old. I used advice from another site combined with the tray out step from this site.
