Help answer this question below.

Can a musician playing a big bass drum call himself more of a musician than a man playing his bow(as in bow and arrow) as a string instrument? (both of them have comparable tuning and timing)

    I think so because if they are both reading sheet music too, then I think the bass drum player has a better chance of following the written instructions for crescendo and fortissimo...I don't think you could pull that level of musicality off with the bow...and I've done both :)
