get all A's and B's on your report cards, or buy your own computer with your own money.

First off, you're still taking the courses, so you don't know what grades you'll get. However, if you are stating that you're taking hard courses in response to your father's demands, you're basically tossing out the white flag of defeat before the fight's over. Your father is looking for signs of maturity, responsibility, and dedication. Unfortunately, surrendering hope of good grades before completion of the classes doesn't show him either. Please work as hard as you can, show your dedication and effort to your classwork, and finish the classes. Bring him into the loop in terms of advice on work, or just include him as a sounding-board when you're composing your answers. He'll probably appreciate it. In the end, your father will likely factor in your attempts as something positive, and that will lessen the impact of less-than-perfect grades.
