  • Never. Red Dwarf stars have about 40% the mass of our sun. With the mass of Sol, our sun will go through a Red Giant stage and eventually end up as a White Dwarf.
  • Actually it's a brown dwarf, and in about 4.5 billion years. That's when the Sun will have exhausted it's fuel supply , (burning hydrogen from helium) and as it's "flame" burns outt, it will expell it's outer shell in a "death blast" that will expand it to Mars, knocking the inner 3 terrestrial planets off their orbits, like a billard ball.
