  • The only explanatiom which I thought was a wive's tale, but also learned from a Meteorologist is that a haze or (halo) around the moon indicates precipitation, whether rain or snow.
  • The familiar 22° halo around the Sun or Moon occurs because of refraction in tiny hexagonal ice crystals in the air.
