  • Thats snoopy of you. How old are they?
  • Why dont you simply have them show you the messages, Instead of being deceitful.
  • You'd have to ask your cell provider about that, but I do know that there is equipment on the market that will read the phone and sim memory. It's quite pricey (like over 2 grand, but there are many computer forensic companies around that can do it for you. They tend to be a bit cheaper :) As far as being decietful? What's wrong with watching your kids? If more parents did that we probably wouldn't have as many problems with kids as we do!
  • Are you serious? I would hate if my parents did that to me. It would make me feel like they don't trust me. Now if I gave them a reason not to trust me, that's another story!
  • I know you wanted this to be a covert operation but the easiest thing to do would be to tell them they aren't allowed to erase them. If the total number of sent/received messages on the bill doesn't match the number on the phone then the phone has to go.
  • How old is your child and why do you want to be this protective of them? If they are really young or you have a good reason to be wary (they have many numbers you don't know who it goes to, they've gotten into drugs, something pretty severe) then you should be able to ask your telephone company for copies. Though I'm not sure you could get them sent to your phone. However, why not, unless you have a pretty good reason to suspect them of anything, just trust them. If you can't do that, then what message are you sending to them? Plus, hyperparenting can lead to the over-dependence of children. Which also translates to them staying at home longer.
