Many ambidexters are highly intelligent and talented. I would say that they are geniouses in the making.

i know that when someone has a brain injury on the left side of the brain, and experienced a loss of movement on the right side, you can still be right handed. trust me, i had to do it. i had to write with my left hand and it was not pretty. i tried to be ambidextrous but couldn't do it.

You are not correct in your original assertion. All people use both sides of their brains, but for some unknown reason the brain is crossed over, so that the right hand is controlled by the left side of the brain and the left hand by the right side of the brain. Someone who used only one side of their brain would be like a stroke victim - only half of their body would work. However, some of the higher brain functions, like creativity, emotionality, rational thought etc. appear to be focussed on one half of the brain or the other. Note that not everybody has the same positions - it is only on average that one side is creative and the other side rational. The understanding of this is still very woolly, though brain science is advancing very fast at the moment.
