Question

Help answer this question below.

I think I may be crazy. I cry over everything, but thinking about things like comets hitting the earth or our species killing each other off sends me into a full blown panic attack. I can't sleep becuase I'm up all night worrying. Help!

Sounds like you are having anxiety attacks. You might want to go see a therapist.

You're not crazy, but you could use some help from a professional.

Thanks folks. I have a lot of stressors at the moment, way early menopause (I'm 44), my daughter and her baby moved in with us and I'm doing all the baby sitting while she and my husband work. So basically I have no life. So my hobby is freaking out about crap that I can't change. I can't even watch the Science Channel, because something will set me off.

You are crazy. But so is everyone I know (including that guy in the mirror). But you do need to see a doctor. It sounds like the panic attacks are more symptomatic that being the problem on their own.

YOu are not crazy, but you need some help. See your doctor and talk to him/her about what you are going through. You may need some anti-depressants to level out the ups and downs, and some counselling over what is causing the anxiety build up (stresses can go back some time).
I used to suffer anxiety attacks. With treatment for depression, a method I was taught to control the =panic attacks, and counselling, I am pretty good now.

THe method I was taught is on my website: http://www.webpastor.com/panic.htm

    Hope all goes well.

I think you're right, I need to see someone. I hate doing it though, my husband tends to think that feeling this way will just go away if I don't focus on bad things. I tried to tell him that that's the problem, I can't keep from focusing on things. It just happens.

*Please* get some professional assistance,SharGal. My wife has been through much of what you’re experiencing, and while medication is certainly necessary, in some cases, even just talking it out can sometimes have amazing results.

    Blessings!
