Why do you hate them? They're beautiful flowers and require almost no maintenance. I wish more flowers were like that! They also have reported benefits for those who seek "alternative" views of reality... (the seeds are either smoked or eaten to bring about a psychedelic experience similar to the compound in magic mushrooms, psilocybin). I think they were used in many indigenous North American tribal cultures for their "vision quest" properties.

I like them, so I have them planted between a border sidewalk and the house--this feature came with the property. Otherwise, I wouldn't plant them because of the risk of spreading. I have to be discrete because Morning Glories are classified as a noxious weed by the county authorities where I live. I risk a fine if the noxious weed board would ever inspect my yard. I feel like such an outlaw!
