My ex and I were 21 when we got married, 22 when our daughter was born, and 25, when she decided to move on. I was devastated when she left me, but it wasn't too terribly long when I realized that it was for the best. If you stay in a relationship in which you have drifted apart you will be in a relationship, but at what price? It is much better to be alone and happy than to be in an unhappy relationship. Of course the goal is to be in a happy relationship. Take the time to really get to know the next person before getting serious. Ask yourself if the little things (He's sloppy, or irreverent, etc.) that you SAY are cute little quirks are in fact potential bombs in the making before making a commitment.

I wouldn't take it very seriously, especially if he can only manage to tell you this while drunk.
