  • I think it's better on paper
  • i seem to remember things better when i view them on a screen for some odd reason.
  • I do prefer to read a book, have no idea why, interesting as a lot of people now read mostly via the computer screen ! :)
  • Not just you, it varies. I prefer paper when there is a lot to read....but if not, i'll read it off the internet.
  • I am from the old school, so I was reluctant to change over to internet earlier but now that I am internet and computer savvy I prefer the internet and for leisure reading I prefer the books.
  • It's just you lol
  • I am a hands-on person too. I like to go shopping and see the merchandise before I buy..no online ordering for me. I like to go to the grocery store and select among things, touching and smelling and deciding which is best..no home deliveries for me. I like books/newspapers/magazines better than downloading anything from the internet. I hope we're not a dying breed! :(
  • For me Internet news is way to biased. It's really less of "reporting," and more of trying to convince someone of a pre-formed opinion. I like sports news that way. You know, from the perspective that my favorite team, despite a 12-231 record this year, is still the best team out there. You know, just a little bit of back luck and bad officiating is why the slump. I still read the daily newspaper, and hope to keep it that way. No joke, I still own a telephone with a rotary dial. Not that I use it so much, but it is there. Used to be my grandma's.
  • Yeah paper's better. Easier to flick through. If I tried to find something in one of my books while someone else tried to Google it, I would have the answer before the other guy had turned the computer on. The internet has its place, but so does paper.
  • You're right in most instances. I do love my ebooks though.
  • It's not just you. I don't know why, but I really don't like reading things off a screen. I'd rather have the physical book in my hands.
  • No, it's not you. Books on paper are better read and understood than on-line. Maybe it's got something to do with eye-strain. I usually print an e-book a few pages at a time, and read.
  • It's not you. In fact there's nothing that compares to a book in your hands.
  • Cannot put myself entirely into reading something on the internet. But put a book in my hands I am totally involved and I am transported.
  • You're absolutely right - old school, eh? Somehow, it's a much better visual when it's on paper
  • It's not just you. I can't read an on-line book. It's just not conducive to relaxing, recreational reading. Reading a book is more of an experience.
  • absolutely! the internet, as much as i use and enjoy it, does not give the tactile enjoyment or curling up with a good book, or reading the evening newspaper in front of the fire. read on!!
  • A hand-written letter is forever. it can be read over and over again. people seem to say more and mean more in a hand-written letter. Emails are cold and are easily lost and forgotten. If you have the physical paper in your hand, it will be there forever.
  • Personally I prefer metaphysical paper . . .
  • Not just you... I love taking the book outside or to the beach in the summer. Take it to bed, sometimes drops out of my hand just before I fall to sleep. I can relax better when I'm not sitting in front of the pc screen... more relaxing for the eyes also.
  • Its not just you. I rather read on paper or on my Kindle; the computer screen hurts my eyes if I stare at it too long.
