No, I don't think it's the least bit rude, and especially not if there's no way for them to modify that. That's just the environment you have to deal with, and you shouldn't be taking this personally.

Yes, i should take it personally. There is enough noise pollution as it is. I find it completely unnecessary for more horns to be blaring just because people are too lazy to de-activate this feature, and in my opinion, the car-makers need to be forced by law to delete this feature and be forced to pay for retro-fitting (i.e. Recalling) every car in the world that is currently on the road, to cancel this feature.

Yeah, that was pretty much going to be my response, too. But then I figured the questioner has enough upset in his life (clearly). Especially to think that he should take this "personally". I'm no fan of excessive busy-ness and noise myself, but I don't take any of it "personally" unless it's directed at me "personally".

But that's just my personal take on it.
