I don't know any atheists so I wouldn't know if they say that or not?
-
The same reason a vegetarian would still talk about friend chicken. The phrase still has meaning in English.

Those phrases are so ingrained in the vernacular that mean absolutely nothing. As an atheist, I try to refrain from saying such utterly ridiculous things, however, if I do have a slip of the tongue, to me they mean no more or less than "oh, shit!" or "I'm fucked now!" Sometimes, for obvious reasons, the former are the lesser of two evils (no pawn intended, of course)

My husband is an atheist and he would NEVER use those expressions. He won't even say, "Bless you" when you sneeze.

Forcive habit

because they are part of the english language
