  • The human body was not designed to have metal shafts driven through it. There is a built-in warning system that uses pain to alert you that something is wrong. If a metal shaft is driven through your body, then you can assume you will feel pain as part of the warning that something is wrong. You can expect pain.
  • It'll sure hurt a lot for a few days at least, probably more than that. Then it will be just uncomfortable unless you pick up an infection which is not difficult to do. In addition to that, it can get painful again if you start wearing certain types of clothes that rub against the piercing.
  • Good luck, hon. People have been glorifying the human body since we were on this earth. But the ONE thing I don't hear you mention in your question is YOURSELF! What IS mentioned is other kids/ other people and what THEY want. I think at 12 years old it is likely illegal for you to get peircings without your parents' consent. I know that isn't a barrier to you doing what you want to do anyway. However, the law is that way for a certain reason. One of those reasons is exactly what (I think) has been revealed to me in your question: peer pressure. Your thoughts at this important time seem to be more about what your friends/ others think than about what YOU think. Do you even WANT this procedure, my friend? Will you please commit to going inside and figuring that out before you do it?
  • Poking a hole in your skin will hurt. Anywhere on your body.
  • I got mine done. I was so nervous. The guy stuck it in and it was over. No blood, nothing. It depends on the person getting it done. It made me sister, who went in strong minded, bleed and it hurt her for awhile after. It's not too bad though.
  • it will alot have one myself you really should wait till your atleast 16 your still a child people arent gonna think its attractive or sexy are your parents allowing this? if your gonna try to do it at home DONT thats VERY dangerous and stupid and even if you did it professionally it gets very easily infected and IT DOESN'T HEAL FOR ATLEAST 6 MONTHS! you have to take incredibly good care of it washing it, soaking it in salt water (which is surprisingly difficult), applying gels to it so it doesn't scab which it will anyways, and all doing this at very least twice a day for several weeks no swimming, no sleeping on your stomach its gonna be constantly sore until its several months healed and when you finally take it out (dont fool yourself into thinking your gonna wear it for your whole life) it leaves unattractive scars, dips, and hole in your belly button and it gets caught on things (which fuckin hurts!) just think about it alot more be independent and ignore what other kids say, they arent looking out for you
  • Do you really want to do this? It will hurt and could get infected too. Why don't you wait until you're older and give this more thought. Do your parents approve?
  • You are 12 why dont you give it a few years and make your mind up for your self. I had my belly button pierced at 13 and again on the bottom at 16 and 2 more times at 18... I personally didnt have a problem with it. Now I am 24 and have scars around my belly button. Think of the long term effects not just how cool or pretty it is at the time. But please do what YOU want to do.
  • Im not going to say it does not hurt, because it does. It's not like unbearable pain, but it does hurt. Some teens it could look cute on others it just might make them look trashy. Just do whatever you think you should. Everyone is different with how they react to pain so no one can really tell you how it will feel.
  • I would not, but that is me. After having a baby a lot of them are left messed up and it does not goback in place and looks like a great big scar.
  • It's not going to hurt because there is no cartilage there. It just skin. It's like if you had to get your ears done. 1,2,3! and done.
  • You should do your research before making an informed decision. The piercing you have chosen takes the longest to heal (up to a year). Here is a link to "Body Piercing: A Guide for Teens. It can answer most questions. http://www.youngwomenshealth.org/body-piercing.html
