No, cancer cells are not anaerobic and neither are HeLa cells. Both are just derivatives of normal human cells, which are definitely not anaerobic. Hence our requirement for oxygen! In fact, cancer cells oxygen demands are part of the lethality of the disease. They cause new blood vessels to grow in order to supply themselves with oxygen. This essentially steals oxygen (and blood-carried nutrients) from other parts of the body.
