Rosé refers to a wine that is made with red grape varietals but has a light pink hue resulting from the maniplation of time in which the skins and pressed juice are allowed to remain in contact with one another before fermentation. There are different methods used to create a rosé and are more akin to the process used in white wine making. To generalize, a French rosé will usually have less sugar ("dry") while an American rosé will often have a sweet quality. White grape varietals are sometimes combined with the red grape varietal(s) in contemporary rosé.

Like a mixture between red and white wine, slightly pink in colour. Neither sweet nor dry tasting as its texture is balanced between the two
