Who says masturbation is wrong? There's nothing wrong with masturbation. The only excuse you may have for thinking this is if you have been constantly told (brainwashed) by someone in authority that bad things will happen if you masturbate.
It is an enjoyable thing to do, especially to a partner. It can form an important part of love-making. It can be used for physical release when the one you love can't be with you. It can keep you faithful.
Whoever told you that masturbation is wrong has issues and there is no need to avoid it.

Well if you really hate physical pleasure that much kill yourself. Oh right, that's a sin. Despising the body your god gave you. Well, so's an unhealthy attitude towards masturbation. You cannot love another if you don't KNOW and accept yourself. Including your physical form. There is a juxtaposition between spirit and form for a reason: communication. If you don't listen to yourself with kindness for (perceived or actual) flaws then why should your god listen to your soul with charity?

Sex becomes separated from love and is relegated to a reflex that releases tension. But God intended sexual desires to be satisfied in sexual relations, an expression of love between a man and his wife.—Proverbs 5:15-19.
Losing this viewpoint can lead to problems in adjusting to a right relationship with those of the opposite sex. Such ones could be viewed as sex objects rather than as sensitive human beings. One may tend to exploit another as a mere tool for sexual satisfaction. Such wrong attitudes taught by masturbation can defile one’s “spirit,” or dominant mental inclination.

For good reason, God’s Word urges: “Beloved ones, let us cleanse ourselves of every defilement of flesh and spirit.” (2 Corinthians 7:1)
How to fight it?
The battle against masturbation is fought in our mind. Hence, the Bible recommends: “Prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled.” (1 Peter 1:13, New International Version) For instance, we may happen to notice something that is sexually stimulating. The mind is inclined to dwell on such thoughts and let passion develop. (Matthew 5:28) When that occurs, our bodies tend toward sexual activity. The longer our minds dwell on the wrong thought, the more this physical process escalates to higher phases of excitement. Eventually, the level of arousal may lead to masturbation. But the mind must exert itself and reject the immoral thought. If it does so, then the arousal soon dies down and any discomfort because of body tension fades.
When you have difficulty falling asleep, endeavor to imitate faithful King David, who wrote: “When I have remembered you [God] upon my lounge, during the night watches I meditate on you.” (Psalm 63:6) Forcing our minds to ponder on God and his qualities will often break the spell. “You lovers of Jehovah, hate what is bad,” wrote the psalmist. (Psalm 97:10) It is not easy to hate a practice that brings such momentary fleshly pleasure, but keep thinking of how God views this unclean habit
Avoid like the plague any reading matter, TV programs, or movies with sensuous themes. Don’t keep looking at such things. “Make my eyes pass on from seeing what is worthless,” prayed the psalmist. (Psalm 119:37) Such sights will be stored in your mind and often resurface when you are alone.
Finally, to assist in maintaining self-control during the nighttime, one Christian advises: “Before going to bed, read something related to spiritual things. It is very important that the last thought of the day be a spiritual one. Prayer at this time is also extremely helpful.”

In the days of old, youths were beaten for having 'unpure' thoughts and wet dreams. So going by that, it must be against some religious principals but today we do it anyway. Once you experience a new way to enjoy yourself it just doesn't make sense to stop doing it. It's not harmful and is being linked to ways to lengthen our lives and lowering blood pressure. You can choose to abstain because of "moral" pressure but ultimately you will remember how much you enjoyed "wanking it" and temptation usually wins out in humans.

I don't think there's anything wrong with masturbating. Maybe there would be a problem if you can't control yourself and are doing it in inapropriate places. Other than that, I think it's perfectly healthy and natural. But most people don't talk about it.

There is nothing wrong about masturbation, as far as I know everyone does it and nobody thinks if it is wright of wrong, they just do it. They don´t think of that, but it is normal and good. well dear, it seems to me as if you are confused to whether or not should yo masturbate...
Well here is my answer, first ask yourself why would you like to masturbate ? Its because you are missing your wife/husband ? Is it because you are trying to avoid having sex with anybody else ? is it because you have watched a porno or something. Or you do it just for enjoyment...or to get out frustration.....
Before answering, just know, that i am not tryin to support any side, i am just givin you points you can think on...
So, first i can say that you tell yourself that there is completely nothing wrong about doing masturbation...not healthwise nothing...
Now, having said it, it is advisable that you do not mastubate... you keep something for your wife/husband, enjoy the real sex (with the - married - partner), a being is 'supposed' to have. Its like an act which shows you are weak to control yourself.
Now, how can you avoid it.... for that you have to have some real power of mind....you just think of somebody you like, your love your friend or who so ever.... and think whenever you are urged...that the person will not be happy seeing me like this.
Another way you can avoid it, which worked for me as well...if you mastubate excessivley...try to form a time table, that i am going to have it two days after, for a week...then try expanding the time limit... i think you'll get rid of it ultimately.....hope that helps

If you think masturbation is wrong you're not comfortable with yourself and thus not comfortable with life. If you think its wrong don't do it but don't go telling others its wrong and they'll burn for it. Live and let live.

I cant say wrong in it. But anything in excess is harm. If you are addicted to it, you would be mentally stressed and become frustrated for silly things even. You would lose concentration on others things like your life achievement. So please maintain a balance.

I think some kinds of masturbation can be wrong, especially if done in public. If you jack off to watching little girls (age 3..4..) or something and you're some nut who got their teaching license and is jacking off to your preschool class.. uh.. I think that is horrible. It is morally wrong, this is why we have marriage because such a thing as masturbation is forbidden in all religions. If it's not wrong then it would've always existed, just like marriage.

I despise whoever says that opposite, I'm not saying you should stop masturbating. It is YOUR own choice, but saying that it's ok or that there is nothing wrong with it is WRONG. Just because you enjoy doing it, that doesn't mean that it's right.

well, there are differences amongst human bodies, so what's good to one may do harm to another. so if u ever feel memory or concentration loss, weak joints, or knees, then u'd better stop for good. Do some activities n save it for your girlfriend or wife.

From aBuddhist point of view, masturbation in itself is neutral, neither right or wrong. It is natural. It releases sexual tension. However from an ethical standpoint the following are possibly considered unskillful in Buddhism;-

1. Masturbating whilst thinking about having sex with someone who if they knew would probably not consent to being thought about in that way

2. Masturbating whilst thinking about having sex with a married person, or with a friends partner, and the like.

It would be better to bring to mind an imaginary person. Using people, even only in the mind, as masturbatory objects is ethically questionable.

I know masturbation is not wrong.. but how can i limit myself from it? i usually masturbate every after class since i've lost my partner..
