If you remember "The Thornbirds", you should remember Alex Haley's "Roots". There was so much anticipation, quite a few businesses closed down for the 8 consecutive days it was on the TV. I might add this mini-series was on ABC LONG before there was cable or satellite TV. I LOVED it! Our family LOVED it! Thanks for asking your Q! I enjoyed answering it!
