Many vegetarians LIKE meat, they just don't eat it. Simulations are better than nothing to them.

Yes, If its meatless. I would assume so.

I don't eat meat because I don't believe in the needless killing and mistreatment of animals. I also don't like the taste or texture of meat. I do eat soy and veggie products for their nutritional value and because they taste good. I don't think they taste anything like meat.

I know vegetarians who do eat the meatless products like that all of the time.

They're probably eating it for the protein or if they're vegetarian/vegan for ethical reasons. I personally don't like the taste of meat (I won't even eat seitan because it tastes too real), so I don't eat those types of products. Or maybe they've recently gone vegetarian/vegan and are trying to eat that instead of meat for a while.

I don't eat meat because I don't like the idea of it. It just seems strange to me to eat an animal. I'll eat the substitute stuff because I like that taste of it.

Just because us vegetarians like the idea of a piece of substance on a bun does not mean we are trying to make it like eating meat. A "hot dog" we all know is not a dog... its the shape of the food item. Some people use sausage, some use what Americans call hot dogs, some use beef shaped like it, and we use soy protein or the such. Big deal!

Well I never did - I was a vegetarian for 14 years - but I had given up eating meat so I was not about to eat something that was pretending to be meat - copying the shape, colour, texture or even attempting to replicate the flavour of meat. There are enough vevetable based products around these days that you do not have to go down that route
