  • A sticky one, because it's their property but you would become an accessory to any incident that may take place. I would probably start by telling them that if they were insisant then they could have their keys, but I would be honour-bound to report them to the local police, offer to make them a cup of coffee, and then try to find the manager. It's called upward delegation, sweetie.
  • I would take them to one side and say 'I'm sorry sir/madam, you are clearly intoxicated, and it would be wrong of me to give you these keys. However, I will gladly call you a taxi to wherever you need to go.' If they didn't accept that, I would call for management to deal with.
  • I would enquire as to whether they had someone to drive them, and if not explain that it wouldn,t be a good idea and offer to call a taxi, failing that I would call the Manager and let him/her sort it out, thats what he/she's paid for isn,t it?!
