  • Humm, fair point. I think it might have something to do with short-sighted heckling. Must be hard to make it as lead guitar, and the ones I can think of are also singers. So is it easier to get a chance to develop as a bassist due to traditionally being stuck near the drummer and therefore the idiots have not put you off your selected carrier yet? This then spirals into the only idols for females who aspire to be in a band are therefore bassists. I used to know a lass who was at LIPPA (Macca's centre of excellence in liverpool) called Jo Bywater, she was great but really struggled to get recognition despite great talent.
