  • I have the theory that the answers we seek are within us. That's the role of a good counselor: to listen. Sooner or later, we will say our solution, and the counselor should just repeat it back to us. Try talking into a voice recorder for ten to fifteen minutes per day. Then, one a week or so, listen to what you said. You'd be surprised what came out of your mouth.
  • Personally, I think its just to make ourselves comfortable during certain circumstances. Sometimes I'll talk to myself if the house is empty and the silence is stretching on... an extremely quiet house is kinda creepy for me sometimes.
