  • Real down? If you washed it in a machine, spin it for a longer time than usuall, a few cycles but not at high speed, ya don't wanta bunch up the down. Then make sure the dryer is on the lowest temperature setting. Even 'fluff,' or no heat at all, it will take a while but ya won't wind up with a comforter that smells like scorched feathers. If the dryer has a seperate air flow adjustment from the heat, set it at max. It also helps if the dryer is way big so the comforter can really tumble and toss and fluff and seperate the feathers. Like a big commercial dryer at a 'laundra-mat' 'cept they tend to be hotter than ya really want, so be careful. Tumbling a down filled object is about the only way to really keep the feathers from settling and bunching up, especially one that does not have sufficient quilting. Without a dryer ya need to lay it out flat on a big drying rack with a lot of air flow and pick it up and turn it over and kinda toss it around before laying it out again.More turning and tossing as it gets dryer and dryer.
