Well, DVD was first introduced around 1998, however we did not see very many games or software shipping in mass until around 2004-2005. DVD burners and DVD recordable discs were much more common before 2003, long before you could easily find software on DVD. Just like yesteryear with DVD-R/W, recordable media and drives usually gain popularity before Software ROM discs, the same is true for Blu-Ray Disc. For the time being, DVD has enough capacity. Software companies will release more BD content when the hardware hits a low enough price point and deep market saturation of about 80-90%. DVD software took off when about 80% of the installed user base had DVD-ROM drives in their PCs. Few people today have BD drives due to cost and hardware compatibility, it will be many more years for your wishes to come true.
