  • Ehh, depends on what this political correctness is applied to.. perhaps some people tend to be more "sensitive" towards issues than others, who knows. Am I politically correct?
  • Politically correct, not so much, just more geared towards understanding how another user may react to your answers/questions/comments. But you can't please everyone.
  • i got a say in the matter *.*
  • I think it's because the "regulars" sort of get to know each other over time, and then they start to worry about their reputation rather than what us anonymous newbies do which is just speak our minds.
  • It seems to me like most Answerbag members feel like they're walking on eggshells when it comes to speech. Most of them do not want to accidentally say the wrong thing and offend someone, so they say things in a way that does the best to avoid that. It's not something that I would bother with, but I guess it's nice for some people.
  • It does not seem overly PC to me, however I haven't been here long. Thank God being PC is not a requirement, because I am the antithesis of politically correct. I will be respectful and polite, but I refuse to use pretty words to hide the truth.
  • I don't know about all that, I think some are quite vocal. Read some of the comments I have gotten. :)
  • I am not so sure it is, for AB is home to MANY kinds of people. If there is any truth to your assumption, it is because political correctness is popular now. I strive speak the truth, unabashedly, in love. :)
  • I think it is just politeness. Got to be careful you don't get thrown in the PB.
  • I'm not aware that it is? What do you mean?
  • Yeah, it certainly is a worry ...
  • The thoroughly-brainwashed are quick to attribute Political Correctness as some warped manner of "politeness". BULLSNOT! "Political Correctness" is a long-standing Chinese Communist intimidation technique -- pure and simple. "PB" -- passive bullying -- would be far more accurate. Learn more here ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_correctness I really don't care what some PC dirtbag thinks of my answers. I am not here to win any popularity contests. I'm here to provoke thought, stimulate healthy debate, voice an opinion, tickle a funny-bone or three, and generally have a good time (infrequently, at others' expense). REAL men and women will either ignore my answer (and move on) or argue until they are blue in the face. Most of my answers are intended to stimulate thought and urge discourse -- elements that linguine-spined bullies prefer to crush. What bothers me more than anything about AnswerBag are these gutless wonders who vehemently disagree with you, are allowed to steal points from your score without so much as an explanation. These PC people are outright cowards! On the rare occasion that I might wish to down rate someone with whom I disagree, I openly notify them of my intentions in a terse comment. Perhaps AnswerBag might want to make it a mandatory feature of down rating. Those who know me from QnA Live know that I am NEVER the least bit politically correct, and I am first with the harshest of criticism (in a witty sort of way). My new friends on AnswerBag will soon discover my often confrontational, frequently humorous, sometimes bombastic, always fair-minded. but NEVER "PC" stylings. I'm sure to ruffle a few feathers along the way.
