This is just a old cheep make one. But the keyboard is now typing this answer 37 feet away. Now that mouse is another story tho. For it only seems to work no more than 4 feet away. And it also eats up the batteries much faster that this keyboard dose.

It depends one the technology used, how strong the transmitter is in the keyboard, how good the error correction is, etc. Some RF keyboards are supposed to go up to 100ft, which could be useful, I suppose, in some rare circumstances.

Pick a sunny day and set your 'puter up outside. Start typing will walking away backwards. When you see you are losing contact mark that spot and measure it. Let us know what happens. Oh yeah, make sure you don't have any cliffs or freeways in back of you before you begin yo...:)

It all depends on the hardware. Some will not work more than 50feet away, while other input devices I own work at over 200+ feet away. Linksys 'used to make' a bluetooth receiver with a large built in antenna that many users reported over 300 feet (usually more) of transmission distance.
