I have a few credit cards, but only use two of them. With respect to those I pay them off every month. So, I don't carry debt from one month to the next. Additionally, in October I paid off the loan on my car two years early. So, I am blissfully debt free at the moment. *********** "justinoldguy: Well, lucky you. You are in the mnority of credit card users, you know. :)" That may be true, but all that it takes to get into my situation is a little bit of self discipline.

I've only had a balance over $3,000 once. I paid it off in full when it was due, so I don't consider that as "debt", just as a bill since it wasn't past-due. I use one credit card, but it has a 5-figure credit limit. There's a lot of self-discipline and denial involved. (I pay my bill off in full and on time EVERY month. If I can't afford it, I don't buy.) Of course, if I bought even a quarter of the things I wanted, I wouldn't have any room in my house. Heck, I'd owe enough to buy a house! I currently owe $2,265.92 now, in part because I helped a friend out with 2 months of rent (on one bill... they were behind).
