Probably not, but I won't say for sure. :p

I think you would probably be cooked like an oven. If it has ventilation so you can breathe, then the heat will come in along with the air, as well as the radiation. I don't think they were made of lead, which is what it takes to shield from the radiation. There is a new polymer (plastic) out called Demron, but it wouldn't be effective against a direct nuclear bomb blast.

It would depend mostly on exactly how far you were from the blast center point ... the nukes of the 50s were crude and had a relatively short "kill radius", but their "wind blast" radius was relatively large ... if you were too close, you would die for sure ... if you were well beyond the kill radius, but still within the middle of the wind blast, you would be hit with a wall of hot radioactive wind which could theoretically be survived, but you would be beaten and strained from a high G-force acceleration and lots of bouncing ... so unless you were just at the edge of the blast radius, the odds of survival would be very doubtful.

No, you wouldn't. Indiana Jones is one crazy guy, though!

Who is gonna lock the door for you? Presumably they're being left behind? The answer is no. In reality, anything in the blast radius up to 1,000 yds will be vaporised instantly. Anything 1,500yds.-2 mi. away will be severely blasted with 5,000 degree wind and thrown 500 yds. down the blast line, with no shortage of impacts with the ground and or other objects and edifices. If you were 3+mi. away, you would probably survive long enough to enjoy the pleasures of radiation poisoning and watch your hair and teeth fall out over hours or days. About all you'll really have time for is to place your head firmly between your legs and kiss your ass goodbye.

If Indiana Jones can do it, why not?!
