  • Try checking out the fuel filter.
  • you might want to check your fuel pressure and cylinder compression
  • Sounds like maybe with the oil light coming on that you have an oil pressure problem you will need to remove the oil pressure sensor and install a mechanical pressure guage and start the engine and see what the oil pressure really is most run around 20 psi. Idleing on a hot engine but can be as low as 10 psi. If the pressure is actually low then you may need new bearings rod, main, cam, put in the engine or the oil pump may be bad. As far as low on power and stalling that could be fuel filter, Vaccum leaks or the carb. itself needs to be rebuilt.
  • asuming you are good at adjusting carbs and it is perfect, the first thing i would do is replace plugs, wires, distributor and rotor. this is about a $75 fix if you do it. ive found that about 3 years is as long as a gm product can handle going between these being swapped. it is very easy to foul those plugs when playing with the carb. how long have you had the car? you are sure it hasnt been burning it or leaking oil? checked levels?
  • Has the timing belt ever been changed? Main reason for loss of power. Have a mechanic check it out.
  • sounds like it needs new rings and a new oil pump.
