There is one major item that I TOTALLY disagree with: khaki uniform items for E-6 and below. Khaki uniforms traditionally have been a mark of distinction separating Officers and Chiefs visually from E-6 and below. They are (were) an easily recognizable symbol of leadership and authority. By introducing khaki clothing to E-6 and below, this visual distinction between those in positions of leadership and authority is blurred. There is one other major item I am ambiguous about: cammies, even if it's the digital pattern. I understand the tauted reasons for this, namely that the patterns make wrinkles less obvious and stains & wear aren't as noticable. However, adopting a camoflage uniform pattern for a service branch that has no general requirements for campflage uniforms in the traditional sense just doesn't sit well with me. But I guess this is really just a minor irritation with me. Fortunately, there doesn't seem to be anything in the works to eliminate the crackerjack uniforms. Yet.

I think it's unnecessary. I love the traditional Navy uniform. Sailors are ment to LOOK LIKE SAILORS. I think that it seems like they're trying to look more like Marines when it shouldn't matter. And the cammies are just stupid. Cammies are only useful in a combat situation and won't help you in the least if you fall off the ship.

Yes and I like the new uniforms. I wish there was camos when I was in. It makes better since to wear those especially in a rate where you actually work, ie BM's. It is about time the navy caught up to the times. I know old school people like the old style but dang this is 2009. The navy always did have the ugliest uniforms out of all of the branches, so good for them to change.
