I would have James Burke (of "Connections", "The Day The Universe Changed" and "After The Warming" fame do another television miniseries. Episode 1: The Neutrino by Isaac Asimov - one of the best explanations of science, the scientific method and what constitutes a scientific hypothesis, theory or law. Episode 2: Up the Long Ladder by Richard Dawkins - explaining why evolution is THE central theory organizing almost all of our knowledge about biology, geology, cosmology, genetics, etc. Episode 3: Quantum Reality by Nick Herbert - explaining the quantum measurement problem and its philosophical implications for our understanding of our world. Episode 4: Blink by Malcolm Gladwell (with material from other sources) - explaining how our minds ACTUALLY work. We are NOT the rational unified beings that we and our culture pretend we are. Episode 5: What the Bleep we DO know, based on work by Nicholas Taleb (Fooled by Randomness, The Black Swan Effect) - explaining how people get suckered by nonsense like astrology, The Secret, get-rich-quick schemes, etc. Episode 6: Synthesis - putting the previous 5 episodes into an overall package, illustrating how the Universe actually works, and how our faulty human minds fail to grasp that. . . .
