  • the T.V. probably had to either cool down, reset itself, or something like that...
  • You don't mention a make or model but I suspect there is some kind of "reset" switch that is activated when the power is interrupted.
  • If you have a digital cable connection with some type of cable box between your tv set and connection then by disconnecting service to tv / cable box then a new connection ID is established to the box/ tv. If it is the TV alone then this is most likely to do with overheating electrical components inside the TV. This is a sign the TV is going out.
  • Most all electronic devices these days are controlled by processors and software (firmware). Resetting, in essence, “Reboots” the device. As many of these devices have capacitors which store energy, It may take a while of starving the device of power to facilitate a reset. Much like rebooting your computer when it freezes up.
