According to reference data - testosterone is an odorless substance. However, sence of smell is dependent from a sniffer, i.e. perception of smell is a subjective parameter. For example, usually a dog percepts smell better than people; women better than men ... Lets re-formulate that initial question: is testosterone a volatile substance? Answer: Yes, it is a moderate volatile compound. Moreover, at Olympic Drug Testing testosterone is analysed in the gaseous state by a gas chromatography mass spectrometer (GC-MS).
