What is the origin of the need of finding out the origin of so many Japanese names?

...better than questions about bunnies...or pills found in a drawer with the marking YMB36...or teens obsessing about "pre-cum" and possible pregnancy. I'd rather have a few hundred Japanese family name questions for the weekend than have to look at more bunnies-pre-cum-and-pill questions

Desire to be the most inquisitive on the leaderboard... Lack of caring who it bugs the hell out of. (These are all unanswered questions... Apparently, a "team" is trying to clear them out of THAT category.)

It's a childish, selfish, and rude way of posting a sh*tload (about 250, in fact) of nearly identical questions which would otherwise be called SPAM in a cheap attempt to make the leaderboard.
