Should our schools be teaching a manditory memory course at the preschool level?

    Memory, like logic, is not something you can 'teach'. It is a skill. You can, however, enhance natural memory potential through memory exercises and games. Doing these exercises while a child is young may make connections in the synopses of the brain that encourage increased memory performance later in life, but is not guaranteed. Many things that are memorized (arithmatic tables, math formulas) can also be derived--and that is more valuable to be taught.

    I don't think any subject should be manditory in preschool.
