Not 100% positive (my memory is getting thin - I'm 40) but from my school days I remember them as being New England, Mid-Atlantic, South, Southwest, Midwest, and West.

i only now: Northeast, the south, the west and the midwest. Found these on a web site Central Region Northeast Region Pacific Region Southeast Region Southwest Region But i don't think that include alaska and hawaii. Try searching on Google.com on images.
