Can anyone tell me some advantages of the inconvertible fiat money standard vs. the gold standard? disadvatages?

    The single largest difference between fiat money and gold standard money is that the government can print as much fiat money as it wants or feels it needs. This is both a blessing and a curse. While it allows the government very tight control over the money supply, it also lends itself to inflation.
