  • Try St. Ives medicated apricot scrub. You can find it at Longs or almost any other drug store in the skin care section and it's not expensive. My skin used to be very oily too and I had really bad acne that I tried everything on. But, I started using this stuff about 7 years ago and saw great results within a few weeks. I have used it and had great skin since. I use it once a day usually, twice when I have done a lot of excercise that day (sweat). I have found that using it more than twice a day can actually dry your skin too much though, so don't go crazy with it. I hope you try it and that it helps you as much as it helps me.
  • Funnily enough I had pretty good success when I started using an oil-free moisturizer every day. My guess is that it got my skin to stop panicking and over-producing oil. Applying plain yogurt works well too.
  • In my Seventeen magazine, there was actually a special on choosing a facial to use every seven days for different skin situations to correct them. Like you, I have oily skin. According to the article, I used a cleanser (try Noxema Blackhead scrub), a scrub (try St. Ives), and then a moisturizer (try Aveda's tinted moisturizer). To open your pores for the product to be more effective, wet your face with warm water. When rinsing off your face (after the scrub), use cold water to close up your pores. I had great results. Also, if your face starts greasing up during the day, try using a pressed powder.
  • I am part cherokee indian and have had oily skin all my life. tried everything. the only sure cure, is soap and water, twice a day or more. i have also tried moisture wipes, from dollar general store. they work, in a pinch. The old standby, plain soap and water works best for me.
  • The more you wash with harsh products to remove the oil the more oil your skin will produce, the oil is really sebum and is produced to protect your skin(prevent it drying out & also to prevent it becoming waterlogged).Wash twice daily with a gentle facial wash and use oil free moisturiser.Or better still buy a bottle of jojoba oil and use a couple of drops to moisturise your face and neck as jojoba oil mimicks the skin natural sebum.I am a complementary practitioner.
  • if products dont work it might b ur diet thats causing so much of your oil.
