Did the NY county of Westchester need to put a ban on "texting" while driving? Wouldn't it just make sense to not text and drive since it takes more concentration that merely speaking does?

Not sure I understand your question - if you are anti-texting-while-driving, I would think that you would approve a law against texting while you drive. And, I'm sure you know and agree that people don't always do the smart thing - even when it's illegal. :)

Of course texting while driving is dangerous and while you and I use our common sense while behind the wheel, some other people are, to put it bluntly, idiots. They need to be told what not to do because they're too dense to figure it out on their own. It's like wearing your seatbelt...they're a safety feature that can most likely save your life yet a law had to be made to make (some) people wear them.
