How to connect my cable box to tv, dvd, and a vcr, so I can record from one channel and watch a different channel.

As I understand it, you can't. Cale box can only (usually?) tune one channel. Maybe you van have 2 to watch one and record the other?

AT&T offer a DVR package where you record up to 4 stations simultaneously! If you wanted them on VHS or DVD you could copy them later

I don't think you can do that unless your cable box can put different channels on different outputs.

- It's getting a lot more complicated to answer these sort of questions in this day of digital cable and TV's with digital tuners, but I'll attempt it:
  
  If your cable is mostly analog or the channel you want to watch while recording another is digital but not encrypted (or your TV has a cableCard slot), then you could split the cable coming from the wall (using an RF splitter) and run one cable to the cable box (which then goes to the VCR), and run the other cable directly to the TV. The VCR would be tuned using the cable box, and the TV is tuned using its built-in tuner.

after recording on this vcr itplays back sound ok, but when I play it in another VCR the audio is very low!
