Yeah, my ex considered himself quite the tool man. Unfortunately, everything he built was huge and bulky, weighed a ton and didn't look that great. One place we lived he re-covered every single wall in wood. Some of it was okay, the cedar tongue and groove in the hall was pretty and smelled nice, and the oak and cerry paneling in some of the bedrooms looked nice, but all the trim was plain 1x2 and the living room was luan and was but ugly! The tv stands were monstrosities, uggg. But if any of the stuff that needed done to make the house functional, I had to do myself.

yeah, my husband is like that. Knows a little, has the internet at his fingertips and thinks he knows it all. I am scared everytime he wants to touch my car.

That's me but I'm not as inept as Tim. I actually have an occasional success. Installed a pergo floor in our kitchen last winter, good floor and everyone agrees, good job. (sprains his shoulder as he pats himself on the back, time for PT and heat!)
