  • Watched the news for three hours this morning and heard nothing about Canada. Definitely saw the Brittany crap. If what you say is true, yes, that's disgusting.
  • I think it is typical..we focus on crap and then wonder why our country is going down the tubes.:(
  • It is disgusting that important things are being ignored. That explains why some Americans on AB seem to know nothing about the upcoming Presidential election.
  • That is extremely disgusting, but not surprising. (Dang, where was I? I watch the news all the time and even I didn't know about Canada. I am slipping...)
  • Btittainy was at the VMA? Cool!
  • Oh definitely, actually I was more sickened by the fact that the top story on my news page today was a ridiculous story about Sarah Palin- this was above an article on Hurricane Ike and it's damages, and the two trains that collided in California. I didn't see any mention of Canada, nor anything about the flooding going on in some states...
  • I'm not surprised it wasn't the headline in either the print media or the TV-news networks. Though in fairness, it was covered in the US print media fairly well. Come October there will be more news about the upcoming Canadian elections on the US TV news, too. But with the US financial markets in flux, the Georgian crisis, the US Presidential race, the Turkish President making a landmark visit to Armenia, et cetera, Harper's dissolving of the Parliament a year early really doesn't merit top news story of the day. As for why the TV media decided to focus on Brit rather than any of the stories I mentioned, well, it's the TV media: they are a joke. They spent like 4 months talking about the death of some girl in Aruba.
  • Not surprising - most Americans are so ignorant that they couldn't even *find* Canada on a map of Europe!
