  • If you have identified a specific program that you are sure is causing memory leaks when you run it, either don't run that program or contact its publisher/developer and ask them why the memory leaks are occurring and what to the solution to them is, if any. If the program causing the memory leaks is a running background program and you have no use for it, click Start, click Run, type msconfig in the box, click OK, click the Startup tab, find the box for the program, uncheck it, click OK and reboot your computer. This will prevent the program from running when you load Windows.
